Aerial imagery using high-resolution multi-spectral sensors makes it possible to know the vitality of plantations by analyzing the amount of light they absorb and reflect.  The farmer can then make the decisions that impose themselves, knowing the precise state of his plants, and at a micro-plot level.

Several cameras are capable of taking these readings, such as the Parrot Sequoia. It has a multi-spectral sensor, responsible for analyzing the area overflown, and a Sunshine sensor which will quantify the intensity of light emitted by the sun. The data from this camera can then be processed using software such as Pix4D Field or Airinov. Drones then become real decision-making tools.
